PakistanThere has been no surgical strike on Pakistani soil: ISPR

RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Pakistan has said that there has been no surgical strike on its soil by India, and made it clear that if it happens, it will be strongly responded.

The statement comes after the Indian army claimed to have conducted surgical strikes along the Line of Control (LoC) and caused “significant casualties” on terrorists.

“Significant casualties have been caused in these strikes,” the Indian Director General Military Operations (DGMO) Lt General Ranbir Singh said on Thursday in a press briefing in New Delhi.

“The strikes targeted the terrorists and those backing them,” Ranbir Singh said.

However, Pakistan’s army media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that there has been no surgical strike by India instead there had been cross border fire initiated and conducted by India which is existential phenomenon.

“As per rules of engagement same was strongly and befittingly responded by Pakistani troops,” said a statement issued by the ISPR in Rawalpindi.

The ISPR said that the notion of surgical strike linked to alleged terrorists bases is an illusion being deliberately generated by Indian to create false effects. It added that this quest by Indian establishment to create media hype by rebranding cross border fire as surgical strike is fabrication of truth.

“Pakistan has made it clear that if there is a surgical strike on Pakistani soil, same will be strongly responded,” the ISPR said.

Earlier in the day, the ISPR said that two Pakistani soldiers embraced Shahadat in an exchange of fire with Indian forces on the LoC in Bhimber, hotspring, kel and Lipa sectors.
