EAST LONDON: The third one day international (ODI) of the five-match series between South Africa and West Indies is being played at East London on Wednesday.

In the first two ODIs, South Africa beat West Indies and took a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.

The South African Captain AB de Villiers hit the fastest century in 50-over game history as his side overwhelmed the West Indies in the second ODI at the Wanderers in Johannesburg on Sunday.

AB De Villiers scored the fastest ODI century off just 31 balls, five balls fewer than the previous record held by Corey Anderson of New Zealand.

The visiting West Indies side will desperately need to win the third game to level the series against South Africa after not being able to do much more than admire AB de Villiers on Sunday.

West Indies need to perform better in all departments if they have to keep the series alive. Their hard-hitting opener Chris Gayle has not scored an ODI century in 14 matches games since June 2013, and has only managed one fifty in that time.

The fourth ODI between South Africa and West Indies will be played at Port Elizabeth on January 25 while fifth and the last one-day international will be played at Centurion on January 28.
