HealthPolio drives begin in Sindh, FATA and KPK

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: A five-day supplementary polio immunization drive would commence on Monday in the 12 districts of Sindh.

A total of 2.498 million children would be vaccinated in Karachi, Sukkur, Ghotki, Khairpur, Larkana, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Kamber, Dadu, Nawabshah, Sanghar and Naushahro Feroze districts.

   

Meanwhile, a three-day special anti-polio campaign also began in selected areas of Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA), Frontier Regions and eight districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Official sources informed that more than 965,000 children in FATA and 199,000 children below the age of five in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be administered anti-polio drops during the three-day campaign.

Law enforcement agencies have taken tight security measures to provide protection to the polio team’s personnel.
