PM Nawaz reaches Karachi to inaugurate Expo-Pakistan Exhibition 2015

KARACHI, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has arrived on a day-long visit to Karachi on Thursday to inaugurate the Expo-Pakistan Exhibition 2015.

   

The Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and other senior officials received the prime minister upon his arrival at the airport.

During his day-long visit, the prime minister will inaugurate the Expo-Pakistan Exhibition 2015 at Expo Centre in Karachi.

“Expo Pakistan is the biggest trade fair in Pakistan, showcasing the largest collection of Pakistan’s export merchandise and services. Foreign exhibitors, from neighboring countries, also use this platform to launch their products. Annually, the four day Expo Pakistan has become the primary sourcing point for a large number of businesses worldwide, giving them a head start on the buying and ordering for coming seasons,” according to the ExpoPakistan website.

First held in 2005, the success of last Expo Pakistan in 2013 was manifested by the participation of a large number of local and foreign buyers who settled business deals estimated at US$ 1 billion as compared to deals estimated at US$ 690 million, the year before.

The ninth edition of the Expo Pakistan is being organized by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) at the Karachi Expo Centre.
