Modi, Nawaz meeting expected in November: Indian media

NEW DELHI, India: A meeting is expected to be held between the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif on the sidelines of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) summit in Nepal in November.

The Indian media citing the sources in the ministry of external affairs said on Tuesday that India has told Pakistan it is interested in substantive talks and not just a photo-op.

The sources said that New Delhi has indicated to Islamabad that it wants peace with Pakistan but wants it to first create a terror-free environment for it.

The sources in the ministry of external affairs also said that a meeting between the foreign secretaries or foreign ministers of the two countries is also likely to be held to prepare the agenda for the Modi-Sharif summit meeting.
