RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Indian border forces continued to commit violation of ceasefire agreement on the Working Boundary since last night and left five more Pakistani civilians injured, according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

In a statement issued in Rawalpindi on Wednesday, the IPSR said that the latest incident of unprovoked firing by Indians took place at Harpal and Chuprar sectors on the Working Boundary.

   

“Five civilians were injured due to unprovoked firing by Indians at Harpal and Chuprar sectors on working boundary since last night,” the ISPR said.

The ISPR said that Pakistan Rangers were befittingly responding to the Indian firing.

“Since 21 October 4 civilians have embraced Shahadat while 21 are injured at Working Boundary,” the ISPR said.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Director General (South Asia & South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner at the Foreign Office in Islamabad and lodged a strong protest against the unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian forces on October 23-24, 2016.

The Indian Deputy High Commissioner was conveyed that New Delhi should investigate the incident and share the findings with Pakistan. The Indian government was also asked to instruct its troops to respect the Ceasefire in letter and spirit, refrain from intentionally targeting the villages and maintain peace on the Working Boundary.
