COAS emphasizes need for coordination among all security forces

KARACHI, Pakistan: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Wednesday emphasized the need for more harmony and coordination among all security forces and intelligence agencies for an integrated response towards defeating terrorists’ threat.

   

The army chief made these remarks while his visit to Headquarters Airports Security Force (ASF) in Karachi.

During his visit, the COAS spoke to the troops of the ASF and commended their professionalism, commitment and acknowledged their valor in averting a terrorists attack at Karachi airport in May this year.

The COAS also pledged army’s fullest support in enhancing the ASF’s capacity, and anti-terrorists training of the troops, as being provided to police forces across the country.

Earlier, the army chief visited Corps Headquarters Karachi where he was given detailed briefing on operational, training and administrative matters of the Karachi Corps.

The army chief was also briefed about overall law and order and security situation in Karachi.
