Islamabad, Pakistan: The German Embassy in Islamabad organize ‘A musical journey through Europe’ here on Monday evening that ended as a unforgettable evening for western music lovers in Islamabad.
Dvorak (seven Gypsy songs), Mahler (three Rukert-Lieder), Ravel (five popular Greek melodies) and Tosti (four Italian romances) were played during the concert which altogether expressed a musical journey through Europe. World’s famous artists Sévag Tachdjian and Yukiko Tidten-Yoshikawa played works of Dvorak, Ravel, Tosti, Mahler.

Armenian descent, Sévag Tachdjian was born in Beirut in 1981. He grew up in Nice, France, where he began his initiation to music by singing at the opera house and playing the cello. Sévag subsequently joined the Opera Studio of Cologne, Germany, in 2010 and has been voted “Best Young Talent” by the Theater Pur magazine, a German newspaper specialized in Opera.
“The second musician Yukiko Tidten-Yoshikawa was born in Kyoto, Japan, and has been internationally active as concert pianist in Japan and Europe. She acquired the “Diplôme Supérieur d’Enseignement de Piano”, and at the National Superior Conservatory for Music and Dance in Lyon, France (CNSM), she obtained the “Diplôme National Supérieur Professionnel de Musicien” in 2009 and the “Diplôme de deuxième cycle supérieur – Grade de master”, a masters degree, in 2011. She also received scholarships of the Nomura Foundation and the Rohm Music Foundation. Since 2014, she is living in Islamabad, where she teaches piano music and is active as a concert pianist”, reports AAP news agency.
The duo presented state of the art music displays which were highly appreciated by the audience. The concert was attended by a number of diplomatic community, officials and Pak-German community.
