PESHAWAR, Pakistan: An-anti polio drive will be carried out in Peshawar on Sunday during which 500,000 children up to five years of age will be administered polio drops, a health department official said on Saturday.

The official said that the district administration has planned strict security measures for the campaign due to terrorist threats to the life of vaccinators.

In order to provide security to thousands of health workers participating in the campaign, around 4,000 police personnel will be deployed at entry and exit points of 139 sensitive zones in all around 100 union councils on the day.

Moreover, there will also be a complete ban on motorcycle riding in the district.
